Caracas: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's party has swept the board in parliamentary and regional elections.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela won 23 out of 24 state governor positions and secured 82.68% of the votes cast for lists of National Assembly lists, as reported by the electoral council (CNE).
In a speech to his supporters following the announcement of the results, President Maduro hailed the outcome as a victory for peace and stability.
