Doha: The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) wrapped up its three-day Arabian show horse auction held in Al Shaqab: A total of QR 1,599,000 was garnered following the showcase of 108 horses. 44 horses were sold on the first day, 37 on the second, and 27 on the third.
According to Qatar News Agency, the prices varied depending on the show and demand. "Alshumous Al Shaqa", owned by Al Shaqab, was the top seller, with a cost of QR 270,000.
The auction drew widespread interest due to the type of horses, and a number of accompanying events were held for families at Al Shaqab's indoor arena.
