CAF Confederation Cup: USM Alger Advances to Final After Draw With Olympic Safi

Doha: USM Alger advanced to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-1 draw away to Morocco's Olympic Safi in the second leg of their semifinal, played at Stade El Massira in Safi.

According to Qatar News Agency, USM Alger progressed on the away-goals rule after the first leg in Algeria ended in a scoreless draw. The Algerian side will face Egypt's Zamalek SC, which reached the final for the third time in its history after a goalless draw with Algeria's CR Belouizdad in the return leg, securing a 1-0 aggregate victory.

Ahmed Khaldi gave USM Alger the lead in first-half stoppage time from the penalty spot. Moussa Kone equalized for the hosts in the 75th minute with a header from a corner kick. Safi was unable to find a winner, sending USM Alger through to the final on away goals after the first leg ended 0-0 in Algeria.

The first leg of the final is scheduled for May 9 in Algeria, with Zamalek to host the return leg in Cairo on May 16.
