Doha: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi commended the State of Qatar for hosting the Second World Summit for Social Development. The event, held thirty years after the Copenhagen Summit, highlights Qatar's significant role as a regional and international partner in promoting human development and humanitarian efforts.
According to Qatar News Agency, Albudaiwi delivered a speech during the summit on Tuesday, where he praised Qatar's exceptional efforts in organizing the global event in collaboration with the United Nations. He emphasized that Qatar's involvement underscores its high international standing and active role in supporting global initiatives related to human development and investment in people.
Albudaiwi highlighted that the summit's goals align with the GCC's vision for social development, focusing on promoting social justice, empowering society's various segments, and developing social protection systems.
