Doha: Google announced today that it will provide a $1 billion investment over the next three years to offer AI-related training and tools to higher education institutions and nonprofit organizations in the United States.
According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative already includes more than 100 universities, including some of the largest public university systems in the country, such as Texas A and M University and the University of North Carolina.
Participating universities will receive financial support and resources, such as cloud computing benefits, to train students in artificial intelligence, in addition to supporting related research.
The $1 billion investment also covers the cost of paid AI tools, such as an advanced version of Google's Gemini chatbot, which will be provided to university students for free.
