Jordan’s King Abdullah Warns of Risks from West Bank Attacks on Palestinians

Tokyo: King Abdullah II of Jordan warned Tuesday of the dangers posed by attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, as well as violations against Islamic and Christian sacred sites in Jerusalem. He emphasized that a just and comprehensive peace, based on a two-state solution, remains the only path to ending the conflict in the region.

According to Qatar News Agency, King Abdullah, during his visit to Japan, reaffirmed Jordan's solidarity with Palestinians living under occupation. He urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in upholding the rights of the Palestinian people to achieve independent statehood.

In meetings with prominent Japanese leaders, including Speaker of the House of Representatives Fukushiro Nukaga, President of the House of Councillors Masakazu Sekiguchi, and Chairperson of the Japan-Jordan Parliamentary Friendship League Kazunori Tanaka, King Abdullah discussed bilateral ties and key regional developments. The discussions also covered development and economic projects that Japan is implementing in Jordan.
