Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) recently conducted a workshop titled ‘Control and Enforcement,’ aimed at advancing the skills of officers in the Airport Security Department. This initiative was organized in collaboration with the MOI’s Legal Procedures Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Public Prosecution, and the Police Officers Institute at the Police Academy.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two-day workshop focused on providing practical training to Airport Security Department officers. It featured a specially developed curriculum that included a manual on legal procedures. The event was attended by notable figures such as Staff Colonel Khamis Mohammed Al Muraikhi, Director of the Airport Security Department, and Colonel Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Ibrahim, who emphasized the need for continued cooperation to achieve the workshop’s goals.
Colonel Dr. Al Ibrahim highlighted that the workshop is one of several planned for the coming months, targeting security departm
ents that interact directly with the public. He noted the importance of collaboration with judicial bodies to present a positive image of the MOI.
Colonel Nayef Mohammed Al Mannai of the Police Officers Institute praised the workshop’s discussions as a significant enhancement to the legal competence of Airport Security members. He emphasized the institute’s commitment to ongoing cooperation with various entities to equip MOI officers with essential knowledge and skills.
Judge Abdullah Abdul Karim Al Qahtani from the Supreme Judiciary Council stressed the importance of law enforcement agencies staying informed about legal texts and principles. He underscored the judiciary’s commitment to sharing expertise to meet the workshop’s objectives.
Judge Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Jussaiman explained that the Legal Procedures Monitoring and Evaluation Committee aims to foster legal integration between security and judicial entities. He highlighted the workshop’s focus on legal issues and criminal procedures, which sparked
significant interest among participants.
Senior Chief Prosecutor Hamed Marai Al-Qahtani applauded the workshop for promoting justice and collaboration between key law enforcement entities. He emphasized the importance of developing enforcement procedures that comply with legal standards.
Deputy Director of Airport Security Major Zayed Rashid Al Nuaimi stated that the workshop shows the department’s commitment to enhancing legal and security skills. He noted that the event resulted from productive cooperation with various legal entities.
Major Faisal bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, Head of the Security Division at Airport Security, described the workshop as a crucial step in ongoing collaboration between Airport Security and legal entities. He highlighted the workshop’s role in refining operational mechanisms.
Captain Hamad Khaled Hamad Al-Thani, Secretary of the Legal Procedures Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, discussed the coordination efforts between Airport Security and committee members. He noted that
the workshop was the result of these joint endeavors.
Senior Prosecutor Saeed Mousa Al-Mass expressed pride in the Public Prosecution’s participation, viewing the workshop as a foundational step toward comprehensive development and unifying enforcement procedures across security departments.
