Oman Hosts Arab Conference on Sustainability, Government Work in December.


Muscat: The Arab Administrative Development Organization, affiliated with the Arab League, is holding the 23rd annual conference under the title “Sustainability and Government Work: Governments’ Readiness for a Sustainable Future” in Muscat, Oman, from December 16 to 17. The event aims to assess the readiness of governments for a sustainable future and analyze their ability to implement the necessary policies and procedures to achieve sustainable development.

According to Qatar News Agency, the conference will further analyze government policies for sustainable development and evaluate government strategies and their effectiveness in promoting sustainable economic growth and protecting the environment. It will also study mechanisms for cooperation between governments and international organizations to exchange experiences and promote sustainable development.

The conference will focus on analyzing government policies to achieve food security, reduce poverty, and evaluate government efforts to promote quality
education and gender equality. Additionally, it will analyze the effectiveness of government mechanisms in combating corruption, enhancing transparency, and the extent of governments’ readiness to deal with environmental crises such as pollution and natural disasters.

The conference’s themes will also include evaluating the available government mechanisms to effectively manage environmental emergencies, analyzing the progress made by governments in achieving sustainable development goals, and evaluating government programs and projects that work towards these goals.
