Patronized by Prime Minister, Qatar Hosts First Doha Legal Forum on Jan. 26

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the Ministry of Justice is set to convene the first Doha Legal Forum from Jan. 26 to 27, 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, the forum is being held in collaboration with Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) and will bring together a contingent of justice ministers, law experts, and justice policymakers, alongside experts and specialists from around the world. This event highlights Qatar's position as a hub for legal dialogue and sharing expertise on both the regional and global stages.

The forum aims to highlight the characteristics of the legislative environment in Qatar and its role in supporting and attracting foreign investment. This will be achieved through exploring legal and regulatory frameworks associated with investment and emerging technologies, as well as issues of governance and investment dispute settlement mechanisms in Qatari law.

The event will broadly spotlight the legislative and institutional steps taken to address legal challenges that could affect investment flow, thereby fostering confidence in the business environment and supporting sustainable development and economic transformation. It serves as a leading global platform to strengthen the rule of law and envision the future of legislation and the judiciary.

As the largest legal event to convene in Qatar, the forum plays a significant role in explaining the legislative and regulatory characteristics of critical and emerging sectors. It enables investors to understand the legal frameworks relevant to their activities, promotes dialogue between the public and private sectors, and helps enhance the business climate while supporting partnerships between those two sectors.

The forum also aims to put forward practical recommendations that contribute to advancing legislation in alignment with global standards. These recommendations will support domestic and foreign investment, address legal challenges related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and bolster governance and transparency principles. They will also enhance legal frameworks for the financial, enterprise, and energy sectors, thereby deepening a stable and reliable business environment and strengthening Qatar's standing as a regional and global legal hub supportive of economic growth and sustainable development.
