Riyadh: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) participated in the General Assembly meeting of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, which took place in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. This meeting was held on the sidelines of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari delegation at the meeting included HE Secretary-General of the QOC Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain and Director of the QOC Sports Sector Sheikh Khalifa bin Khalid Al-Thani. One of the key outcomes of the session was the acclamation of HE Mohamed bin Yousef Al Mana as Vice President of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, representing Asia.
The meeting also included discussions on the executive summary of the Union's Strategic Plan for 2025-2032. Additionally, members selected Bahrain to host the 2027 Arab Games, while Saudi Arabia was chosen to host the 2031 edition. The assembly further endorsed the Union's audited financial statements for 2024 and reviewed the proposed budget for 2025.
