President of Arab Organization of Persons with Disabilities Advocates for International Cooperation to Support Disabled People’s Rights

Doha: President of the Arab Organization of Persons with Disabilities (AOPD) Dr. Nawaf Kabbara emphasized the necessity of enhancing international cooperation and joint efforts to uphold the rights of persons with disabilities. He pointed out that such cooperation is a significant step towards achieving social justice and inclusion in both Arab and global societies.

According to Qatar News Agency, during remarks at the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Dr. Kabbara highlighted that these initiatives demonstrate the international community's commitment to partnership and understanding, underscoring the importance of overcoming conflicts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Kabbara also mentioned the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Qatar Foundation for Social Work during the Summit. This agreement aims to implement joint programs that support the rights of persons with disabilities in Qatar, the Arab region, and beyond, marking a constructive beginning for all involved parties.

He further noted that the outcomes of the Second World Summit for Social Development serve as a response to those who resist change, stressing the significance of coexistence and cooperation among people.

Regarding the organization's collaboration with Qatar, Dr. Kabbara expressed pride in Doha hosting the Fourth Global Disability Summit in 2028, which will enhance the leadership of the Arab Organization of Persons with Disabilities and Qatar in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.

Dr. Kabbara concluded his remarks to QNA by expressing hope amidst the current global challenges, affirming that history favors positive change.
