Qatari Newspapers Highlight International Conference and Slovenia President’s Visit

Doha: In their editorials on Monday, Qatari newspapers highlighted the convening of the 8th International Conference on Entrepreneurship for Sustainability and Impact (ESI), organized by Qatar University under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The papers also focused on the official visit of HE President of the Republic of Slovenia Dr. Natasa Pirc Musar to Doha, aimed at strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized that the ESI conference, held under the theme 'Frontier Technologies for Resilient Economies', reaffirms Qatar's commitment to addressing entrepreneurship challenges. It reflects the country's efforts to support youth in overcoming these challenges and engaging in innovation through academic and structured approaches. The newspaper highlighted that this conference positions Qatar as a hub for innovation and sustainable growth, bringing together decision-makers and entrepreneurs to discuss topics such as financial technology and digital transformation.

The editorial from Al-Sharq also stressed the importance of youth in driving change within the business community, noting that the conference provides them with an opportunity to harness technology to shape the future of business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.

In another context, Al-Arab newspaper reported that European delegations continue to arrive in Doha, reflecting Qatar's economic standing and the global confidence in its investment environment. The editorial highlighted the recent visit of HE President of Slovenia Dr. Natasa Pirc Musar, aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and inviting Qatari business leaders to explore investment opportunities in Slovenia. During her meetings, President Musar affirmed Qatar's role as a model in sustainable development, citing similarities between Qatar National Vision 2030 and Slovenia's own vision on economic diversification and innovation.

The paper also mentioned a workshop hosted by the Qatar Chamber, in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad, with a delegation from the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA). Germany is noted as a key trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching around QR 6 billion last year and Qatari investments in Germany exceeding 25 billion euros in various sectors.

The editorial concluded that these activities represent a shift in Qatar's economic policy towards diversifying partnerships and expanding global investments, which strengthens the resilience of the national economy and supports financial sustainability for future generations.
